What you focus on, grows …

Every object your eye catches, every subject your mind is busy with begins to grow.

In fact, the objects your eyes are locked into can create physical dangers, and the issues your mind is locked into can create mental dangers.

These dangers can even be fatal.

‘It is hard to accept the fact of the necessity of changing the behavior, statistics reveal this fact. However, people rely more on their experiences than statistics.’ says Philip Coyne in his book Motorcycle Roadcraft .

One of the most basic rules of riding a motorcycle is “Motorcycle goes where you look at.”

When you do this you begin to move towards where your eyes are locked on. Your vision is always ahead, focused on the point you want to reach while continuously scanning, filtering, and continuing your way by speeding up or slowing down based on dangers.

We can compare motorcycle riding to the corporation’s progress towards its goals.

While moving forward in line with the goals you have set for your corporation, you have to realize what is happening around you.

The further you can look, the faster you can go.

The further you can look, the broader view you can have.

The corporation which can keep its attention towards the goal gets closer to its expanding goal. The same is true for the problems faced.

It is the driver’s duty, namely the leader, to decide where the focus should remain in order to recognize the real dimensions of the goals and problems to be achieved and to approach them in that way.

And wherever the leader looks at it, the corporation can not go in any other direction.
